Noel Cabangon is the voice behind the popular song Kanlungan or Pana-Panahon, one of the Philippines’ most respected singer-songwriter and performer, is back with his first major concert for 2011 entitled Simpleng Musikero, performing his original songs, some environmental feel-good music and a Christmas tune from his brand new album “Panaginip” (Christmas Special Edition), his follow-up to the his Platinum-certified “Byahe” album. Noel is also a respected artist because of his songs that speak of the environment, peace and other social concerns.
In the concert, he emphasized that he will not sing political songs, It was a surprise to know that this serious guy has a humor and the audience applauded him for it, with Mon David, Jim Paredes and Aiza Seguerra in the audience.
Simpleng Musikero made us understand Noel’s repertoire, his “Music Is An Expression”, he delivers total performance including an original song with Ebe Dancel & Nina, his version of Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko, Tuloy Pa Rin Ako and Kanlungan is our timeless favorite. For this holiday season, Noel releases “Panaginip” , which includes all the tracks from “Panaginip” album plus FOUR (4) NEW CHRISTMAS TRACKS, with “Pasko Na Pasko Na” as the carrier single.
Now as an artist of the Universal Records Philippines, he just released his sixth solo album entitled Byahe (2009). It is an album featuring his renditions of the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) classics in the 70s and 80s. Byahe in English means journey. Noel grew up with most of the songs in the album which were also written by the most prolific songwriters in the Philippines, Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika by Ryan Cayabyab, Pinay by Florante, Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko by Rey Valera and many more.
