Sergio Mendes & Brasil 2012 Live in Manila with Sitti as opening act, photos courtesy of MYX.com, Ovation Productions and Magic Liwanag, held in Araneta Coliseum on 24 Apr 2012. I won’t go into the details and the experience, only a post regarding some musical history in our absence but with the help of a friend’s gathered feed (thanks to Jellyn Alinsod) so this event must still rightfully be documented on this blog. Wishing that I could’ve dance too with these great artist’s music in the huge venue.

Congratulations to the Philippines’ Bossa Nova Queen Sitti Navarro as she opened the stage for Sergio Mendez last night (24 Apr 2012) in SMART Araneta Coliseum for SERGIO MENDES & BRASIL 2012 LIVE! 

Sitti’s set includes Batucada Sa Calesa, Limang Dipang Tao, Ikaw Lamang (My Bossa Nova), Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw (My Bossa Nova), Para Sa Akin (Cafe Bossa), End It With You (Sitti Sessions), Sinong Mag-aakala (Sitti Sessions), Smooth Operator (My Bossa Nova).

The center photo on your right is (L-R) with Sitti’s Band, Steven (drums) & Brian Mora (guitars), Joseph Cabanero (sax), Sergio Mendes (a multi-awarded Brazilian musician, artist and composer) and Sitti Navarro (showing you the big hug).

Dreaming of a Sergio-Sitti collaboration song, album or concert soon.
