Sabado Four’s Music On A Thursday Night

We’ve got to listen and watch to Sabado Boys again after seeing them featured at the Tunog Wunderground’s Music Festival last Nov 2011. Photos HERE

Sabado Boys also known as the Sabado 4 is a talented Filipino musical group, composed of the country’s most respected singers namely: Jimmy Bondoc, Luke Mejares, DJ Myke Salomon and Paolo Santos. They have their own renditions of songs like Richard Marx’s Endless Summer Nights, Restless Heart’s I’ll Still Be Loving You and Ambrosia’s I Just Can’t Let Go, offering an overall captivating music with a high-level energy performances. Sabado 4 performed Michael Jackson’s I Just Can’t Stop Loving You with Keith Martin that night.

Each of the boys  presented their own signature songs:

» Luke Mejares’ Sa ‘Yo (with SouthBorder), video by maimaimercado.

Luke Mejares is known for his unique R&B style and his signature falsetto.He replaced Brix Ferraris on lead vocals. Sa ‘Yo,” a haunting ballad that spoke of a heart’s yearning for a loved one and “Reborn,” South Border’s first attempt at recording an instrumental piece reminiscent of their early jazz influences. In 1999, South Border once again caught the critical eye and bagged a total of 12 Katha Music awards including Record of the Year, Best Pop Song, and Best R&B Song—all for “Sa ‘Yo”. ~wikipedia

Vanessa Williams’ Moonlight Over Paris is an unreleased track from Vanessa Williams’ third album, The Sweetest Days. Paolo Santos dubbed as “Mr. Acoustic,” released Wave Sessions under Warner Music Philippines on 2003 containing 21 tracks which is a compilation of his live performances including this much-loved rendition of “Moonlight Over Paris”. 


» DJ Myke’s Huling Araw, video by myxphdotcom

DJ Myke is a Vocal Percussionist and is known to be the country’s Beatbox King. DJ Myke’s beatbox sampler HERE. DJ Myke is a ex-member of the vocal group AKAfellas, he left the group in 2010 to be a solo recording artist. » I wished Jimmy Bondoc played his phenomenal hit song Let Me Be the One but instead he performed a cover of Stanley Clarke & George Duke’s Sweet Baby, video by yourTvJuan.

Sweet Baby is from the epic album “The Clarke/Duke Project” reaching #6 on the R&B chart in 1981. Jimmy Bondoc is a Filipino acoustic artist, songwriter, record producer, and radio personality who popularized the songs Hanggang Dito Na Lang, Let Me Be the One and I Believe.
