The Ryan Cayabyab Singers in Concert
07 July 2012 | Music Museum
The Ryan Cayabyab Singers marks their fifth year as a group with great music through a concert billed as a “pop concert with a theater twist“ happened at the Music Museum last 07 July 2012. RCS7 is Anezka Alvarez, Poppert Bernadas, VJ Caber, Celine Fabie, Erwin Lacsa, Vince Lim and Kaich Tiuseco, conceptualized in 2007 as a group of outstanding soloists handpicked by Mr. Ryan Cayabyab to vocalize his stellar sound and impeccable artistry.
OPM lovers and concertgoers enjoyed the spotlight segments, RCS and Ryan Cayabyab original songs and other medley of songs: OPM, Motown, MetroPop, Jukebox and Filipino disco hits. RCS7 is a showcase of 7 great voices with a brilliant mentor. They performed an impressive tribute song ‘Tunay na Ligaya’ lovingly dedicated to The Maestro. The group shared the stage with Jolina Magdangal (an alumna of 14K) who performed the song “Kailan.”
It’s our second time covering RCS in Music Museum. Photo above were taken at Motown and Beyond concert last Jan 2011. More photos HERE. What’s different now is that this time performances has a lot of dancing and they look good together executing the choreography of the dance. We were entertained by RCS7’s tap dancing production number to a mashup of Ryan Cayabyab’s ‘Mamang Kutsero’ and Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera’s ‘Moves Like Jagger.’ They’re not just hitting the right notes but they’re also dancing the right moves. Video below by jeyvi.
The concert is a benefit show for Gawad Kalinga (GK). The audience get to watch videos of RCS7 together with Mr. C in their advocacy in GK projects such as executing anti-poverty campaigns which made a big part of their journey as a group. GK projects are not only limited to physical structures in communities but also workshops which aims to nurture music appreciation and the love for OPM.
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary RCS7! Such an amazing feeling to witness your momentous achievement. More photos from the RCS anniversary concert HERE by VerJube Photographics.

Here’s a photo teaser from VerJube Photographics, an event to remember because its our first time to see Mr. Cayabyab not playing on stage but mentoring his great vocal group named The Ryan Cayabyab Singers.
The Classic Motown sound was the theme of the show and I admire these singers because they made justice to these classic hits.
I’m a big fan of Motown sound, Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, DeBarge, Boys II Men to name a few. It’s an awesome show!
