Among the songs included in the album is the carrier single and Aiza Seguerra cover Akala Mo, Hajji Alejandro and Rachel Alejandro’s May Minamahal, Afterimage’s Mangarap Ka, Agot Isidro’s Beginning Today, Nonoy Zuñiga’s Kaputol Ng Isang Awit, the special track O Holy Night and each song’s minus one format.
Known to be the Prince of Ballad and the Pinoy Dream Academy’s 2nd runner up, he has performed once again on the album tours plus the VIVA Records and Vicor Music’s OPM iLike events. More photos from the OPM iLike event HERE.
Checkout his recent music video Akala Mo which he helped conceptualizing and producing, video courtesy of vivamusicgroup1.

May Minamahal the album seemed to be a rediscovery of Ronnie Liang’s music. Ronnie’s serenade is the capability of sharing his version of popular sentimental songs and probably the best way to reach his listener’s heart. May Minamahal is now available in your favorite music stores nationwide.

Pio Beats His Passion for Rap in Dukha

Pio Beats His Passion for Rap in Dukha
Pio Balbuena showed an impressive live rap performances at VIVA Records and Vicor Music’s OPM iLike event held in Glorietta last 30 Nov 2012. He staged his own rap style and technique through his collaboration songs like the single Himig Ng Pag-ibig, a song he worked with folk rock icon Lolita Carbon and has delivered the song with his own rap verses regarding the plight of Filipino soldiers and the families they leave behind. Checkout the music video below courtesy of vivamusicgroup1.

Pio’s cover of the Heber Bartolome original and album title Dukha raps about the street children and the laborer’s lives, it’s a duet with Jay Perillo. He has written songs including Mismo (a rap-rock collaboration with Mayonnaise vocalist, Monty Macalino), Sinayang Mo (a heartbreak song with new artist Myca) and Batugan (a song about improving someone’s indolent life performed with twin sibling act MMJ).
Rap has been a legitimate and a popular type of music nowadays, its the primary element of hip hop and reggae music. It refers to spoken or chanted rhyming lyrics (wikipedia) as Pio has developed and build his skills by nonstop writing of songs, perseverance in achieving his goals and the heart in performing his passion for rap. He is also a former member of co-ed P-POP group called RPM.

Kenjhons is a member of the renowned and world champion hip-hop dance group The Philippine All Stars who won four international dance championship titles [Los Angeles, Italy (2006), Las Vegas (2008), and Africa (2009)]. He is not only the lead choreographer but also the one who would mix and arrange the tunes they would dance to.
With the support of his DJ friends, Kenjhons was able to share his own compositions to radio listeners.
He was able to share his compositions in the album, “Ur Angel”, which talks about a special bond between two people, and the  heartbreaking song “Di Ko Na Kaya”, which he wrote after his 9-year relationship ended, were just two of his hits. One song called “Caught Up” even rose up the Wave 89.1 and Magic 89.9 charts.  “Mainit”, his collaboration with Q-York Entertainment, became an anthem for Filipinos all over the world to walk with their head held high.
The song Matinik is an impressive RnB and Hip Hop style appeals even to the younger market. “Lahat tayo matinik.” (We are all amazing)” as Kenjhons began elaborating on the message of his carrier single in the event, “One that can do wonders, that can live life to the fullest.  So find the “matinik” in you,” he further explained. Video below courtesy of KenjhonsTV.

Kenjhons’s all OPM album MATINIK is now released under VIVA Records, composed of 12 tracks including a love song called “Shorty”, a fast song about a dance showdown called “Hala”, a sexy beat called “Feel Me”, “Your Show”, which describes how the audience’s reaction to his performances thrills and inspires him, and many more. Kenjhons produced this album, composed and arranged the songs in the album, he definitely have raw talent. Matinik is now available in record stores near you, grab one now! One Up!

Indeed, Kenjhons the singer, dancer, and total performer is now in the spotlight. Guided by the Light he has held on to all his life, his music will give you both enjoyment and enlightenment.

We’re happy to share with you this banner made below for the first OPM iLike Tour at the MarQuee Mall in Pampanga. 1. Travelled from Rizal to Pampanga to experience OPM iLike. We love travelling! Yes, travel and music goes well together.

2. Meet and greet the artists backstage. It’s been fun mingling and just talking to them nothing but music.

3. Covering the first OPM iLike event series and seeing people’s smiles on a family day having fun with the event’s entertainment and great discounts.

4. Get to work with the happy people of VIVA again, special thanks to Mam MG for trusting us with this project and for always giving us the opportunity to share our talent. Thanks you also to Steph and Pau who took care of us during the show.

5. Above all, discovering music through this journey is yet another experience that we look forward to.

It’s our first time to watch and listen to Kenjhons’ music onstage, awesome talented man performing HipHop and RnB with dancing all at the same time. We’ve encountered Marvin Ong’s memorable melodies again in his album tracks that he performed from Sigaw Ng Puso. And we’ve seen the VFort trio at last, the voice behind the phenomenal hit Prinsesa. VIVA Records held a successful Le VelvetsTV and Media Conference yesterday (16 July 2012) at The Peninsula Manila (Makati). The all-male vocal group performed a powerful medley to open the conference, a mix of classical, jazz, folk and pop style.

Le Velvets is composed of tenor singers Tatsuhiko Saga, Shinichiro Hino, Takanori Sato, and baritones Hironobu Miyahara and Takuya Kurokawa. They were smart to answer media questions after the introduction of Robert Wada, a Japan-based S/L company producer, trainer and the man behind Le Velvets.  Le Velvets loved Filipino hospitality, the people, the food and I’m suprised about them talking the “It’s more fun in the Philippines” tourism slogan. They graced the conference for another amazing performance, they sang the classic Filipino love song entitled “Dahil Sa Iyo,” a well-performed number I must say.

They’ve recorded OPM songs with the help of a Filipino vocal coach and through Viva Records’ recommendations they will mark their Philippine debut. Now promoting their self-titled album with 2 OPM classic covers, Nonoy Zuniga’s “Never Ever Say Goodbye,” and Sharon Cuneta’s “Sana’y Wala Ng Wakas,” released under VIVA Records.

Album Track

1. Unchained Melody
2. Fly Me To The Moon
3. Nessun Dorma
4. O Sole Mio
5. Waterloo
6. It’s Only a Paper Moon
7. Moon River
8. Vivere
9. Mas Quenada
10. Never Ever Say Goodbye
11. Sana’y Wala Ng Wakas
12. Mi Vida

Don’t miss Japanese CPOP (classical pop) sensation Le Velvets performing live in Manila for the “Philippines – Japan Friendship Month” celebration this July at SM prime malls; July 20 at The Block Atrium, SM North Edsa, July 21 at the SM Megamall Event Center and July 22 at SM Mall of Asia.

This crossover event is supported by media partners Businessworld, Herword.com, official music channel MYX and SM Department Store and Music and Video, with special thanks to The Peninsula hotel of Manila. Definitely a major musical and cross cultural event to watch out for this month of July.
