Sitti Live! at Radio Republic’s Muchikahan15 Jan 2013
Nothing compares to listening live music especially when performed by certified musicians and artists. We first experience it this year at Radio Republic’s Muchikahan. Muchikahan is a lighthearted blend of music, talk and everything in between hosted by master musicians Ryan Cayabyab and Jay Durias, jamming with the Philippine’s Queen of Bossa Nova Sitti, streaming via  www.radiorepublic.ph.
And when you love live OPM, there’s no better place than Radio Republic! The performance of Maestro Cayabyab, Jay Durias and Sitti were seldom held that’s why we really took time to be able to watch it live. We’ve seen how they setup and started the show through Sir Kelly Mangahas’ direction that night.
They sang a lot of songs in the jam sessions before the show started like One Note Samba, You Are The Sunshine Of My Life, The Trouble With Hello Is Goodbye and Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. It’s been an amazing experience to listen to them. Sitti has been so happy and honored to be performing with the musical geniuses, Mr. C and Jay Durias.
Sitti shared her life and career stories as the show progress. She scat singing to Muchikahan’s word jam, she definitely has a fantastic vocal improvisation skills. She performed her signature song Para Sa Akin, a song from her multi-platinum Cafe Bossa album. Other songs are Sinong Mag-aakala, End It With You and Wag Mo Na Munang Sabihin from her latest album Sitti Sessions. Sitti has also performed a beautiful version of Samba For Luisa, a song originally by Manila jazz legend Bong Peñera.
She introduced her own style of bossa nova to the Philippines, making it to the mainstream and continuously developing her craft as an artist are the qualities I’m most proud of about Sitti. Watch out for Sitti’s upcoming album with her new record company soon!

Above all, we got the chance to get up-close-and-personal with them. Smiles all around. Thanks to Sitti for making this all possible for us and to all the people behind Radio Republic for making us feel at home. Sitti Live! at Radio Republic’s Muchikahan15 Jan 2013
